We invite you into our Heritage Suite for a real treat for all ages this summer and experience an intimate performance that no theatre can offer.

On Sunday 5th July, we are delighted to welcome M&M Theatrical Productions, who will bring Edith Nesbit’s’ classic, family favourite tale, “The Railway Children” to life in a stunning one-act adaptation.

This is a charming story of three children, Roberta, Phyllis and Peter, who live a somewhat privileged life with a wonderful mother and father until one day, disgrace and poverty falls upon them. Their beloved father is imprisoned and they are forced to relocate to a humble cottage in the country near a railway line. The children’s friendly habits, resourcefulness and sense of resilience make them a number of friends who help them out along their journey, making them heroes and resulting in a happy ending.

M&M are very much looking forward to bringing his production to us this year. They have created this 60 minute, 1 act adaptation with beautiful period costumes, detailed authentic sets and special effects to capture imaginations and engage audiences, young and old.

Our Classic Literature Adaptations are aimed at encouraging children to read for enjoyment by bringing books to life. Stories have the power to bring emotions to life and to help children understand their own feelings and those of others. A story can help children understand a character’s motivations and the consequences of their actions. Mesmerizing, engaging and full of educational relevant PSHE themes and messages, this enchanting production is presented in an easily digestible and interactive format, perfect for all children aged 4 to 11

The performance is recommended for adults and children of 4+.
