This Spring Bank Holiday Monday, we’ve got something that’s “just right” for all the family, the young and young at heart!

On Monday 27^th May 2024, we invite you, your family and your friends with a unique and adorable afternoon hosted in the refreshing Spring sunshine and beautiful grounds of Hempstead House Hotel.

Bringing professional theatre to you! We are delighted to welcome back, Let’s All Dance, the same dance company that brought us Teddy Bear’s Picnic and The Nutcracker, with their delightful, 45-minute rendition of “Goldilocks, The Ballet”:

Join Goldilocks, the girl with the lovely locks and her jar of magical honey, as she befriends a family of bears and teaches everyone the value of sharing. But watch out for Selfish Sid who, on hearing that the honey is magical, hatches a nasty plan to steal it from Goldilocks. With a 1940’s vibe, a variety of dance styles and plenty of bowls of delicious porridge, this ballet is just right!

Bringing this classic children’s story to life, Goldilocks: The Ballet is the perfect opportunity for the whole family to enjoy the magic of live, professional ballet for a special treat.

With sell-out performances across the UK, Let’s All Dance Ballet Company is renowned for bringing classic children’s stories to life, combining narrative driven productions with traditional ballet repertoire.

Picnic or Afternoon Tea?

Picnics are welcome! Feel free to cater yourselves, we simply ask you to take everything back home with you afterwards!

Otherwise, let us spoil you with our divine Afternoon Tea with unlimited tea/coffee included along with traditional finger sandwiches, scones, cakes and pastries. Children can receive their own themed tea too! Menu below.

Dietary requirements and intolerances can be catered for providing these are highlighted in advance to include gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian or vegan afternoon teas.

Children under 2 are welcome on a complimentary basis.

Being an outdoor event, we ask you to bring your own picnic blankets or camping chairs, and simply enjoy the surroundings and relax.

Please note that the hotel will not provide tables and chairs outside. Shelter will also not be provided. Gazebos are not permitted.

“RAIN DOES NOT STOP PLAY!” - Please dress appropriately for our unpredictable British weather as the performance will be outside.

In the event of heavy rain, this event will be hosted in the Heritage Suite on sharing tables of up to 10 guests. 

We anticipate this event to be very popular so please do not delay in booking to avoid disappointment.
